In WW2, young Carlo Scorsini was a Partisan fighter in Italy. By 1950 he was on his way to Canada determined to start a new life. Years later, his son Elio purchases the family’s abandoned farm only to learn of the tragic events that befell his grandfather and aunt’s family. Finally congrats to my student Tiffany Kwan who is not only a cast member of but also wrote a sketch for ASIANSPLOITATION: BE MORE PACIFIC Asiansploitation creates sketch comedy with a slant.
A collective of Asian-Canadian writers and performers who strive to examine, critique, and re-imagine the society in which we live, through comedy. We seek to expose the human condition and laugh at it with our audiences; we seek to create work that is reflective of and accessible to a broad and diverse audience.
Over the past ten years, Asiansploitation has created 9 original revues, plus remounts, and have performed across the GTA – garnering critical acclaim and developing a dedicated audience base. The Toronto Star describes our work as “comedy with strong cultural influences that also appeals to a broader audience.”
