The next is networking and submitting headshots/resumes. Working on the business side of your career needs to be done every day. As an actor you are perpetually in between jobs. You never now how long your current job will last and you never know when your next one will be. You are ALWAYS looking and should always be prepared for new opportunity. Another thing is watching great actors at work. We learn by watching. You have, at your fingertips, access to every great film actor, and many theatre actors, who have ever graced stage and screen. Watch them. They have already succeeded in doing what it is you dream about doing.
The Robyn Kay Studio would like to offer you a chance to take care of these three things in one night. On a weekly basis. Starting tomorrow, Sundays at RKS will be holding a drop in Meisner Technique class, plus a screening filled with great chances to network within our community. Drop in class starts at 5 pm and goes till 8. Just after 8 we will start the screening. Easy Peasy. Now no, you do not have to come to class to enjoy the screening. And you don't have to stay for the screening if you come to class.
Drop in class is $20 and the screening is free of charge. Do what you will, I am looking forward to seeing you either way. This week we will be screening, arguably the greatest character driven drama of all time, "The Way We Were" starring Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford. This is one of my favorite movies of all time and also a great example of how strong an actor's behavior must be without relying solely on script. Please RSVP at [email protected] or call me, 416-312-9188, don't be shy. I am happy to answer any questions or comments you may have.
Hope to see you Sunday!
